Journeys to Grand Lake, Colorado

A place eleven hours to our west that never fails to recenter us perfectly... provide us with amazing scenes at which to sit & look, make normal coffee taste just a bit better, and add a hair bit to our story every single time.

Wife, pup, the smell of pines, hiking trails, and four days of no plans. Just about right.

The Pacific Northwest

A few frames from a trip through Seattle, Olympia, Sparks, Aberdeen, Portland, and Hood River. More photographs of Garrett & Heather - whose wedding was the primary focus of the trip - can be seen right here.

Ezra & Megan // Poipu, Kauai

Sure, I would agree that a certain combination of vision & technical prowess a talented photographer does make; but it's quite comical how easy this picture-taking business becomes when folks like Ezra & Megan get in front of my camera.

They're quite literally the best around.

And, for the sake of acknowledgement, the Kauai coast sure didn't hurt our causes in the slightest.

West & North - Personal Travels
For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.
— R.L. Stevenson

Each winter, I try to make it a point to set out alone for a few days. See new things, open my mind up, do some reading, explore a bit. At the beginning of February, I headed toward South Dakota & Wyoming. I made loads of unplanned stops along the way, slept in dumpy motel rooms, jumped fences & drove gravel roads. I ended my journey by heading toward Chicago before returning home. Eight states, twenty-three hundred miles.
