These two... they're a reminder that love is real & wonderful & fierce & selfless & simple & awfully fun. They're encouraging, by some means, simply by being near you. And after being witness to the simplest, most heartfelt & most true-to-themselves of weddings they put together, I couldn't help but wonder if they had managed to completely trump the Pinterest & Wedding Blog ways we've become accustomed to.
But, being that Matt & Izzie asked me to tell a bit of their story with my camera, I'll save the paragraphs upon paragraphs I could put here about them, their marriage, & their wedding day. It sure was something else, though; capped off by water balloons and the end-all be-all of hot dog buffets.

The very minute I read of Mary's plans upon hearing from her - and I told her this - I knew I needed to be a witness to it all. The Flint Hills (one of the country's more beautiful - and underrated - parts) is easily a top five on my list of favorites, and learning that my wife and I would be two of only five or six total people in attendance was nearly too good to be true. And it all unfolded in a way that was nearly too good to be true... the intimacy, the closeness, the wide open space, the breeze, the wildflowers, the sun... and Andrew & Mary smack dab in the middle of it all.

This was the beautiful, creative, emotional, God-provided, breezy & sunshiny day on which Jason & Molly became The Catons. From sun-up 'til late that evening, when they exited through a huddle of sparkler-brandishing friends & family, it had a particular bit of emotion & whimsy that was just extraordinary; from the preparations to the decorations, each piece so thoughtfully crafted & hand-placed. And as the day's time wore on, I became increasingly humbled - happy - to have been able to watch it all unfold.
It indeed was a #happycatonday in the purest & most perfect of ways.
